As planned Pyrolinux is still scheduled to be released tomorrow, Wednesday, December 19th.

We will be uploading the LiveCD .ISO file then and OnDisk will provide CDs if you wish not to download.

The long awaited screenshots are now available. We will be adding a page for them soon.

Please keep in-mind that these screenshots are pre-release and things can still change!

Hey all you readers. We are very well aware of the post on Digg and all the flaming it got. We basically would like to say that our goals for Pyrolinux are not to “Burn up the competition” though that would be nice. Pyrolinux has only a few goals, They would be -

• Help beginning users understand Linux, More user-friendly
• Impress friends/family with impressive eye candy from Compiz-Fusion/AWM Dock
• Become another Linux alternative for users to choose

We are simply here to provide another Linux distro and support the growing community of open-source development.

Well here are some of it’s features -

Part of the money of the sales will be going towards PyroLinux’s development and other things.

Our expected release date is still 12/19/2007, But things can always change. We are trying as fast as we can to get it out by then.

We will most likely be releasing PyroLinux with the Avant Window Manager (AWM) dock. This almost replicates the Mac OS X dock. We think this gives more easy to use functionality and will give PyroLinux another “edge”.

PyroLinux is going to be featuring “sharp” fonts. Instead of the default sans-serif or sans font on linux, we are going to give PyroLinux a even better edge at eye candy by giving it more “Microsoft Windows” like fonts. The expected release date for PyroLinux 1.0 (Code named Blaze) will be approx. released Wednesday of next week (December 19th). We do hope you guys are excited as we are too. While PyroLinux is still warming up, go ahead and register on our Forums and get involved!
